Djmohr 6,965 Posted December 25, 2016 We all have something along the journey. As long as you don't have it everyday and it is a small portion you will be fine.

Was it a one (or two) time thing just for the holidays? Can you go take a long walk to work it off? No biggie! Let go of the guilt. You enjoyed it, your stomach is healed, you took a controlled piece. Much better than you would have done in previous years, right?

LipstickLady 25,682 Posted December 25, 2016 @@biglady904 Perfect! No room for guilt. Don't let food rule your brain in such a negative way. YOU are in charge, pie isn't.
Sai 785 Posted December 25, 2016 Needed to see this... The other day I had a piece of my favorite candy. Pulparindo extra hot and salted tamarind with chile mmmMM... but I felt guilty. I cycled an extra hour for it lol. I, too, have to always work on: Letting. It. Go.
Farcaster 80 Posted December 25, 2016 Just be careful because eating sugar tends to make you crave more which can start to really snowball into a vicious cycle of cravings.

LittleBill 2,231 Posted December 26, 2016 (edited) I had a small slice of pumpkin pie today, and I felt NO GUILT AT ALL! Do you know why? It was because this is a lifetime change, not a daily grind. Yeah, we have to pay attention day by day, but we can also let loose on our restrictions for a single instance now and then, because we are human. Tomorrow it will be back to lots of Protein, little carbs, and working out. In the meantime , I was able to relax and enjoy the day. I hope you can do the same. jimmc77 43 Posted December 26, 2016 Exactly.... it's Christmas. You don't stop living your life. You have a plan for weight loss... it won't be the last time you have something. We just can't overdue it. Protein... work out.... all good. Do an extra half hour on the treadmill tomorrow.. .
WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted December 26, 2016 (edited) I had paper-thin slices of pumpkin cheesecake, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, guava flan and tiramisu cake. I am proud as all hell and my mouth is kissing me all over for such amazing-tasting things. We are happy and tomorrow is another day. P.S. We're also sugared out for quite a while to come. In packing up the mandatory care package, we omitted sweets. Edited December 26, 2016 by WLSResources/ClothingExch

TiredOfMyself 141 Posted December 26, 2016 I planned my day knowing I would have a dessert. I had 2 bites of a brownie and a Peanut Butter blossom. I don't feel bad at all. I didn't get fat in a single day and one day a few times a year isn't going to derail me.
highfunctioningfatman 2,675 Posted December 26, 2016 The most important part here is that you are healed at this point. So much different than newly post op people who are risking damage to eat off plan.
