sunsetsue 67 Posted December 25, 2016 I had the sleeve done 12/12 and have been feeling extremely dizzy today. Is this normal at all? I know to call my Dr tomorrow but in the meantime what should I do? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
highfunctioningfatman 2,675 Posted December 25, 2016 Pound the fluids. Preferably with Protein. You may be dehydrated.
Dr-Patient 830 Posted December 25, 2016 You might be dehydrated (though it might be hard to get in all your fluids). OR your blood pressure might be a lot lower than it was when you were heavier. I had that, too, at the 2 week mark. When I check my BP, it was 106/72, not the usual 150/96. I sucked on a few potato chips to get in a little sodium. I'm not 'medically' advising you do that, but it helped me get my BP up a bit. Felt better. Merry Christmas.
LittleBill 2,231 Posted December 25, 2016 My BP went from normal to low. There have been times where I got so dizzy standing up I thought I was going right over. More liquids, salt, and political discussions have helped.

Who'sThere 331 Posted December 25, 2016 I passed out the morning after I got home from the hospital. I couldn't have been dehydrated because I had all those iv fluids in the hospital. My BP was low. This is quite a shock to our bodies, and they are fighting back. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App
megetslim 7 Posted December 25, 2016 Maybe try more broth as that is higher in sodium. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

JupiterinVirgo 846 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) It's pretty normal to be dizzy periodically postop for months to come, particularly when going from a seated to standing position. It is not normal to be dizzy to the point where you can't walk or function or be dizzy in an ongoing way. I come from a family of nurses and they told me having a little salty broth when I feel dizzy will help. they said this has to do with blood pressure. djsambo 10 Posted January 10, 2017 That happened to me too. My dietician said to switch from low sodium to regular sodium broth. The extra salt will help pull more Water into your blood. I made the change and in a day or so I was better. Keep sipping!
