newmein2017 16 Posted December 25, 2016 I had surgery Monday. Yesterday we were driving on some curvy roads and for the first time in my life I felt a little car sick. The feeling has not stopped. I haven't been back in the car today, but I have this constant feeling of being on a rollercoaster going down a steep cliff at 100mph. Please tell me this isn't going to be my new norm. It's such an odd feeling.
Hiraeth 515 Posted December 25, 2016 I haven't heard of this before. You need to call your doctor and tell them about this.

trekker954 421 Posted December 25, 2016 The few times I went out in a car that first week, I was a dizzy and a nauseous. Actually the nauseous feeling stayed with me a good month, so I avoided long drives.
LittleBill 2,231 Posted December 25, 2016 I don't know if it is time to call the doc just yet. The first few days your body is adjusting to a whole bunch of new things. My stomach felt weird for a couple of weeks, although I did not have the sensations you describe. If you are feverish, or have severe pain, bleeding, then yeah, call. But if you can tough this out for a couple of days, it may just settle down on its own. This is not medical advice - just my opinion, which is free, and worth every penny you paid. GmaDiana 81 Posted December 25, 2016 Sometimes after surgery you feel nauseous.Try to increase Fluid intake a sip at a time.Try the same with protein.I know it is hard right after surgery but you will feel better.
Hiraeth 515 Posted December 25, 2016 I second Bill. I only suggested calling your doctor to put your mind at ease; since the mind plays a big part in recovery. Just try to wait it out a few days by resting and see if it gets better. My stomach felt weird while in the car, but it didn't last like yours is. Everyone is different, though. megetslim 7 Posted December 25, 2016 My doctor prescribed anti nausea medication for me to take my first week and it has helped tremendously. Did your doctor give you any anti nausea meds? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
