Why can't I tolerate the some foods some days

Recommended Posts

but not others?

I usually like to have devil ham and a few saltines which goes down fine.

Last night it went down like a gym shoe!

Man the pain was terrible.

I tried lying down but it was worse.

It was only for a few minutes but man!!!!!!!!!!

Help!

Sorry, I have no answers to your question. I can only attest to the fact that every day with our band friend is different.

Some days I can tolerate some things and others not. Some days I am able to eat more in quantity than others. I have a feeling it has to do wtih hormones and/or Water retention and times when our bodies are hydrated or dehydrated.

For me, every day is different. That has been my experience anyway.

Cheers.

Sweetie--

Welcome to bandland! :D This is just how your band will be! One day you can eat something just fine, and then tommorow you will try to have it for left overs and it will be a no go. It is part of the band, and it still happens to me after more than a year now. Wouldn't trade it for anything, keeps things interesting after all!! :D lol...

yeah ladies it is crazy!

I wouldn't trade it either.

I am still in the learning faze.

Often I'm afraid to try different foods for fear they will not go down.

Oh well what can I say?

EVERY SINGLE DAY is trial and error. That's why we're supposed to chew, chew, chew, in the event something doesn't go down well.

Last night, I seemed like a bottomless pit! Had filet mignon and sauteed zucchini. But about 1 cup of zucchini! Sure, it's mushy and goes easier. Now today, I was full on Breakfast of three slices of bacon! And right now, I'm a little stuck on about 1/2 hot dog.

Funny though...I've not yet had a problem with chocolate going down! HA!

Seems that since my surgery, I've aquired a sweet tooth. Never had one before!

But after all I've done, I only treat myself now to chocolate ONE time a week. And let me tell you - I look forward to it!

Some theorize that the Lap-Band is affected by the amount of dehydration of the patient's body. A person who is dehydrated may have a looser Lap-Band due to "Flatter" cells that are not fully hydrated. Conversely, a patient who is fully hydrated may experience a tighter lap-Band due to "Plumper" hydrated tissues. This is another reason to drink more Fluid that you did before.
