Good morning everyone!

Being a medical professional I understand weight loss and plateaus in others, BUT, after going to such great lengths to lose weight myself I find myself getting a bit ticked at my own stall six weeks post roux en y. I've been at 209 for a week straight. I've been walking and drinking a lot of Water. I have had some bm issues of not being able to go but once every four to five days.

Any encouraging advice is welcomed.

Happy holidays!!

I'm having severe Constipation issues myself. My surgical team recommended a product called Calm. You take it as a shot at bedtime..it seems to be helping..

Sometimes when you get bound up, a simple laxative may not work. I had to resort to using a Fleet glycerin suppository that I had to put up my rectum in order to get unbound.

If you are not drinking sufficient fluids this can also cause you to become constipated.

My 2 week stall just broke. Also at 209 on my stall. Am skeptical still about what the scale will say tomorrow. It is annoying no doubt even with knowing this is just how it goes. I use Miralax. It has been awesome

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
