But on mederma, ASAP Silver gel, Vitamin E lotion, or any lotion MAY help. The incision itchiness will subside.

Wait until you lose a lot of weight and your arms start itching non stop. All the lotion in the world won't help. My NUT acted surprised by this side affect yet others here report the same symptoms. I've not gotten any answers but can only think maybe it has to do with extreme excess skin, muscle losing from skin. I'm 62, probably too old to help even with arm exercises. Weight loss 70+ lbs in 4 months. 8 lbs from goal.

Just as long as there is no red swelling(really obvious) and you can breathe and swallow okay. I was allergic to the dermabond so I had to get shots and get it removed.

Mine itched horribly when I still had my staples in ..it about drove me crazy..I would gently scrub them with a washcloth and antibacterial soap..it helped. We weren't allowed to put anything on them other than that while it was healing.

Incision itching is perfectly normal as it is a part of healing. You mentioned that your arms itched all over, that is usually a sign of dehydration for us. It takes alot more fluids to keep those of us who had WLS fully hydrated.

If you notice your skin is itching try drinking alot of Water or sf non carbonated beverages. It will definitely help.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
