krakkerman 5 Posted December 24, 2016 Expect some pain the first few days. They don't really explain that well. But after a week or less you turn the corner. Walking helps. Also get a support or restraint belt for your stomach. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
KWeilbrenner09 88 Posted December 24, 2016 I'll have the sleeve with the duodenal switch on the 26th as well! Let's check in with each other after surgery!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
rbaertsch 34 Posted December 24, 2016 12/19 here! See if the hospital will give you nausea and pain meds for the ride home instead of waiting for the pharmacy in your neighborhood. Riding in the car home was rough for me. All the bouncing. I didn't have one, but a support belt may be very helpful for the ride as well. Good luck! lisaBme 46 Posted December 24, 2016 Stop and walk frequently! You don't want a blood clot!
DopeIP 9 Posted December 24, 2016 The bumps in the road are horrible so take a pillow that you can have pressed against your belly it will help some. Please make frequent stops to walk so no clots form. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
nikkiluvs2dive 3 Posted December 24, 2016 Mine was 12/21, my doctor gave me a nerve block that lasted 72 hours and that was wonderful. It made the 1 hour ride home ok and it allowed me to do a lot of walking. I can tell you that when it wears off it is like night and day now I move like a sloth ????. My doctor also had me bring all my meds with me so that he knew I had everything I needed for the next few weeks!
