When you make your husband order the Desserts you want so you can live vicariously through him. Or when you make your husband order the meals you want because it doesn't make sense to order your own because you'll only eat a few bites

Really can it ever be possible that me, myself or I will only be able to eat only a few bites of anything let alone dessert??

I am learning to eat Protein and I watch the show " my 600 lb life ", I am paying very close attention to everything they do like what they eat on the 800 calorie diet and no snacking at all. Only three meals a day and that's it.I know it's gonna be a long journey but I have to do this. I'm 4'11" and I weighed 238, I have gotten down to 210 and I just started buying some chicken drumsticks that I can prepare by baking. I usually only eat white meat but it gets too dry for me to eat .I'm still pre op I have gotten all the tests done I only have three more nutritionist classes, may last one is in March, so my surgery will probably be in April or May. I can't wait til I can actually eat something and feel full instead of my crazy overeating of everything. I am a work in progress.

It's amazing how little satisfies you. I am in amazement.

...when there are his and hers shelves in the fridge.

...when you went too far stocking up on Protein puddings before surgery and just can't seem to make a dent in the pile.

...when your physical therapist is laughing out loud at the sagging butt of your jeggings.

When you can shop the perimeter of the grocery store like it's an art form.
I rarely go down the inner aisles on a regular basis unless it is for specific items (spices, toilet paper, etc). I haven't seen a Cereal, cracker, cookie, or bread aisle since pre-op.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
