October Lunch

Recommended Posts

Darn it my husband is working that weekend so I will not be able to attend as I have kids but hope you all have a great time! Hope to see some of you at the October 6th luncheon in Waterdown.

If you go to the Canadian Lapband site and click on polls you will find all the information there and the contact person for the October 6th Waterdown luncheon. The info is also posted I believe on the SWLC messageboard on the bandsters lunches/dinners. I will also try posting the info here later when I get a chance.

Don't forget anyone can arrange to set up a luncheon or dinner, there is no rule that it has to be a certain person(s). If you can't make a certain bandster meeting and want to plan one feel free to arrange one and then post details - the more variety and flexibility the better! :hungry:

Exactly right Donna, anyone can set up a get together. ie if a bunch of east enders want a regular session together then go for it. The pattern has been to alternate different parts of the city on differend days on different times of the month to ensure that every one gets a chance to attend. Please, if these don't fit your schedule, organize one in a location/time that does. There is a burlington group that does this all the time.

Jurema, I'm doiing alright. I haven't lost a remarkable amount of weight but my skinny clothes are starting to fit and the fat ones look awful. Go figure. I have been hovering at mid 185 to 187 for 2 months now and it is frustrating. I'm not doing any sort of exercise other than Yoga once a week so I'm sure that isn't helping the situation. I hope I see you soon. What fill level are you at? I am at about 5.75 I think.

Forgive me for posting in 2 locations, but I wanted to make sure everyone sees this!!!

Due to our original restaurant being closed for renovations our lunch has been moved to the following restaurant:

Kelseys (Still)

30 Bristol Rd E

Mississauga, Ontario

L4Z 3K8

According to my Map Software, to get to this restaurant you would either exit the 401 at Hurontario street and go south for about 2km to Bristol Rd, or exit the 403 at Hurontario street and go north for about 2 km to Bristol Rd.

I hope this does not inconvenience anyone too much....please pass the word along. The reservation is for noon under Laurie or Band

Thanks for the update Laurie, I will be there. I checked the map, and it looks quite easy to find.

Note to other lunchers: Bristol Rd is Nowhere near Bristol Circle. (maybe I was the only one who thought they'd be connected)

Look forward to seeing less of everyone that I met in July and less of new friends too !!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
