SampTheChamp 234 Posted October 16, 2017 For everyone that has had the surgery with Dr. Fitzer, how was the pain after you left the hospital. The reason I ask is because i read that some say that he does not send you home with medication. I'm not big on pain meds, but I do worry about how to handle the pain if it gets too intense. Thanks for all of your advice.

I am a self pay patient. Did you go through with your surgery with Dr Fitzer as a self pay patient? Do you mind if I ask what your total payment was?
SampTheChamp 234 Posted February 2, 2018 Just to chime in, I had my surgery with Dr. Fitzer om 12/18/17 and he is awesome and his staff is even better. Overall great experience!
gr8ful1 122 Posted February 10, 2018 I know this thread is a bit old, but I thought I'd chime in and say that I have my initial consultation with Dr. Fitzer scheduled for next Friday. Would anyone like to share why they went with Fitzer instead of a larger practice such as Inova? Fitzer seems like an outstanding surgeon and the comments here indicate that his staff is fantastic. But I'm a bit concerned that he is a solo practice, and that he could pack up and go back to New York or elsewhere, leaving me to find follow-up care and support elsewhere. How did you weigh those concerns in your own decision-making?

tera73 34 Posted February 10, 2018 I had to do 12 months with dietician and lose 10% of my weight. It’s went by quicker than I thought. My friend had surgery over a year ago and she has done awesome. She was the main reason I chose Dr Fitzer, but I have heard nothing but good things. 2 gr8ful1 and SampTheChamp reacted to this
