AGreenEyedWolf 97 Posted December 22, 2016 I have my sleeve surgery coming up in about a month. It may sound silly, but one of the things I'm worried about post-surgery is sleep comfort. I'm a stomach sleeper... I find it very difficult to get adequate rest in any other position. Is anyone else here a stomach sleeper? How long was it post surgery before you felt comfortable enough to sleep on your stomach again? Also, what kept you from doing it sooner - surgery site pain or reflux or something else? lkcnewbeginnings 77 Posted December 22, 2016 I am 17 days post op. I can sleep on my stomach comfortably now. It took about 5-6 days before I could sleep on my side with a pillow and lean into my stomach a bit. The more I walked, the quicker I seemed to heal. Jamie228 15 Posted December 23, 2016 I have always been a stomach sleeper, but a week before surgery I got a double ear infection and lots of congestion. I could only breathe laying on my back with an incline. Since then, I can only sleep that way! You might be surprised that you can sleep in another position! Frenchie1977 262 Posted December 23, 2016 I am a side and stomach sleeper, knowing that this would be a problem right before surgery I bought 4 brand new big pillows, when I came home from the hospital I arranged three of them in an incline and one on the top for my head. I also had two body pillows, one at each side for my arms. I found that I was so comfortable in my fluffy surroundings that I didn't move all night and I slept just fine. I can sleep on my stomach again now, but I often only switch to that mid morning a couple hours before waking now.

sunschick13 14 Posted December 23, 2016 My sister recently had a C section and they gave her a belly band. Once I wasn't so sore, I use that to sleep. I don't feel like my belly is falling or my incisions are being stretched. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
