OneReallyBigBird 267 Posted December 23, 2016 Oh gosh, I want to fit in a booth again ????Me too. It's funny all the simple everyday things normal sized people take for granted. Don't look back, turn the page, and let your next chapter begin!

OceanSong 11 Posted December 23, 2016 Honestly, I think this is the best time of year to just have had surgery, we are restricted as hell and so we don't binge and gain a bunch of weight. We'll be losing fat and be ready for the summer. Also, if we can get through this, we can get through anything! Sent from my LG-K330 using the BariatricPal App That's an interesting point of view. That made me feel better. ☺
Finding_Stacy 263 Posted December 23, 2016 Nothing that comes in a can is really that good anyway. Seriously. It's habit. You will be able to eat anything you want again next holiday season, but you will eat it in teeny portions and while wearing a MUCH smaller size. Focus on how awesome it will feel to fit into booths, wear single digit sized pants, shop anywhere you want... It's ALL worth it. That is truly the perfect response!Thank you for that. Don't look back, turn the page, and let your next chapter begin! Yes, there's nothing like being walked to the tiniest booth in a crowded restaurant and having to say, 'Oh, can I get a table? This booth won't work for me.' :-( It's ironic, though, that the smallest booths and bolted down tables and chairs I've ever encountered were at McDonalds. You'd think they'd have bariatric lobby sized chairs given the business they're in.

Back in the day, I used to absolutely hate eating inside any McDonald's. Maybe they wanted the fatties like me to stick to using the drive-thru window only. In their defense however, the newer McDonald's locations do still have bolted tables but the seating/chairs can be moved around to accommodate the biggest of bodies. Thank God! LipstickLady 25,682 Posted December 23, 2016 And on that train of thought, why do the people who run the WWs meetings put the chairs so close together? I was FAT! I didn't want my thighs rubbing up against the thighs of people on either side of me!! UGH!
AlediaA 2 Posted December 23, 2016 You got this... It is so worth it and you will have soooo many more years of holidays to enjoy later! That's how I look at it... It's now or never! ???????? Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
RNMomof4 86 Posted December 23, 2016 If it makes you feel better it will be so much easier AFTER surgery to resist all those things. Hang in there Sent from my iPhone

I didn't want my thighs rubbing up against the thighs of people on either side of me!! UGH! I thought the same thing when I attempted to attend an OA meeting. I walked in and saw how small the chairs were and how close they were together and I quickly turned around and left. I knew there was no way I could be at all comfortable with the kind of seating. In OA's defense they do offer meetings online and by phone, both of which I participated in and found to be very helpful. Don't look back, turn the page, and let your next chapter begin! Don't look back, turn the page, and let your next chapter begin! I always thought McDonald's did that because, like you said, it forced the heavy weights to use the drive thru, so they could kind of sweep the evidence under the rug, so to speak. You know in marketing, some guy with slicked back hair and an ivy league education floated the idea that people driving by any of their restaurants, and seeing the 'average' type of human sitting in those tiny little chairs, would cause a chain reaction of drivers going by, saying, 'See Beatrice, look at all those skinny people. I told you McDonald's really isn't that bad for us. Let's buy a Big Mac.'

robailey77 2 Posted December 23, 2016 If you think about it this time of year is the best because you forgo over eating and all the bloating. I had mine right before Thanksgiving and I was happy not to eat all that junk! Keep strong and stay the course it is so worth it. I have lost 80 pounds over all since the liquid diet and surgery!!!
