favoredlife 13 Posted December 22, 2016 I am 4wks post sleeve surgery. I know the doctor told me no ruffage, including lettuce. But am I allowed to eat collard greens mixed with kale? Of course they're cooked, but is it ok yet?
FrankyG 1,450 Posted December 22, 2016 Well, I wouldn't say so since they're still roughage even if they are cooked. 4 weeks is still healing, so avoid anything that is on the no list no matter how it is prepared. Sticking with the diet plan your doctor gave you for the stage you're at is always the best advice. If any food/drink is in doubt, ask your doctor.
Andell 53 Posted December 22, 2016 I wouldn't. Even when cooked collard greens are tough to digest. I wouldn't Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
favoredlife 13 Posted December 22, 2016 Thanks... They were good, but I vacuum sealed them & put them in my freezer until I can enjoy them.
erp 2,016 Posted December 22, 2016 Good for you! I get a little tired of the posts asking if not following doctors orders is okay. Frankly, you'll be able to eat those collards soon enough.
