pleezeSleeve 50 Posted December 21, 2016 Hello Pals! Today is my LAST nutrition visit. I have been struggling with losing weight this whole time. My weight has fluctuated up & down but I am 7 pounds down from my initial consultation. honestly, I feel like a failure. I tried REALLY hard but only got 7 pounds down in the end?? smh. Nervous if they will still approve me. Idk what to even say when I step into her office today lol. I guess it is what it is! & proof that I really do need this tool. The struggle is real. How much did your surgeon require you to lose? How much did you end up losing by your last nutrition visit. Thanks for any responses! I will update this thread later with what happened at the last visit.. & if they approve me or not. STAY TUNED!
Armygalbonnie 643 Posted December 21, 2016 I needed to lose 10 lbs but I lost 15. Then when I did the 2 week pre-op diet, I lost 12 more. 27 lbs down before surgery. I had to be very strict with myself. I'm very much a goal oriented person so I followed my required diet to the "t". Good luck with your appt today. I hope everything moves forward and you get your insurance approval. Keep us posted.

pleezeSleeve 50 Posted December 22, 2016 thanks everyone for the responses! so i went in for my final nutrition weigh-in and she was still very happy for me. she was very encouraging and commended me on my lifestyle change. (which is true). i have totally changed the way i think about food and have adapted better habits. i am proud of myself regardless. luckily for me, my surgeon is super nice! the amount of weight he set for me to lose was not a REQUIREMENT by him nor the insurance. he just wanted to see some effort. so now.. i wait. she said it could take 2-4 weeks for approval. is this true? how long did it take you to hear back? lol the anticipation is killing meee. im super excited and anxious & grateful!! i cant believe im finally here at this point. seemed so far away when i first made the decision to ask my PCP for a referral. Frenchie1977 262 Posted December 22, 2016 Hang tight for the anxiety of waiting for the insurance approval, mine had a problem at two weeks and had to be resubmitted so took a full 4 weeks for approval, I was a nervous wreck the whole time.
