lexx.three 2 Posted December 21, 2016 Hw: 347 Sw: 337 Cw: 289 Gw: 145 I'm 5'9 25years old, lost a total of 58 pounds. I'm finally feeling normal, besides when I drink cold drinks it hurts my stomach. Anyone else like that? Also I get hungry probably about 6 times a day but can only eat a few bites. Is that normal to get hungry like that? I'm so scared I'm going to stretch my sleeve;( that's my biggest fear. I feel like I'm not on track where I should be for being almost 3 mouths out. Any advise? Anyone have any good healthy recipes they can share? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Aggiemae 739 Posted December 21, 2016 The sleeve does not stretch. You will not stretch your sleeve. If you've lost 58 pounds you are doing pretty good. You should try to work out if you're physically hungry or is it in your head.
lexx.three 2 Posted December 21, 2016 I haven't been to the gym yet because of a small injury to my back but I'm going to start back in a week or so. I was told that say after surgery your able to eat 3 bites and then your full but you take that fourth bite and then the next time your able to eat 4 bites and end up taking that fifth bite that's how you stretch it. _bribri1001 62 Posted December 21, 2016 Yes your stomach can stretch even after the sleeve. I am only 2 months out and 20lbs down, I would be ecstatic about 58lbs!! But my stomach can't tolerate a lot right now either and I feel like I am behind as well, but hey I guess some stomachs heal faster than others. JamieLogical 8,713 Posted December 21, 2016 You aren't going to stretch you sleeve. You really aren't. Your restriction will "relax" over time as you heal up and fully recover, but that happens whether you overeat or not. Also, it's absolutely normal to feel hunger post-op. The trick is distinguishing between head hunger and actual hunger. For me, head hunger is a craving or like when I see a commercial for something on TV and I think "that looks sooooo good" and then I want to eat it. Physical hunger is completely different. Usually I don't even realize what I am experiencing is hunger. I get grumpy and mean (totally like a Snickers commercial). I don't notice, but the people around me do. I went on vacation with my parents about 5 months post-op and my mom started carrying turkey sticks and peanuts in her purse to feed me when I started being a grouch. Early on post-op, it's hard to get enough calories in to sustain you. So your body will experience true physical hunger.
