Marinerman 9 Posted January 7, 2017 (edited) I just had my Obrera balloon inserted Thursday, Jan 5th 2016. Kind of painfull. Thew up a lot the first night. Still nauseous on Saturday. I can't wait until this first week is done. I'm sure the pain will subside. I have a craving for miso Soup. I'm going to order some and see how it goes. Otherwise I'm drinking coconut water; drinking no caff tea and eating fruit veggie popsicles I got from sprouts. Note: This forum doesn't give a balloon option on the Surgery category under my picture. Edited January 7, 2017 by Marinerman

I was pretty miserable the first few days, although not as bad as I had expected (based on what I had read in advance). After ~ 3 days I started to feel a lot better - hope you do too. :-) Popsicles and Jello helped me a lot. Miso soup sounds like a good option, too. Just take your time easing in to soft/solid foods. Hope all goes well - good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

missmarthak31 9 Posted January 11, 2017 Ok. Tomorrow is the day! at 2 pm, I will be me + balloon. This pre-op diet is so hard. I couldn't imagine having to do this for weeks. I can barely manage three days. I had a little meltdown last night. I was like "Im not going to be able to do this." So glad my husband was there to pull me out of my funk. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Hang in there ... it will get easier. Well, after it gets harder. You won't want to eat much so you probably won't feel hungry, but you will likely feel pretty crummy for a few days. Have Popsicles on hand, Jello and clear Protein drinks (if you can stomach them and they're readily a available). broth is also a good option - especially Bone Broth (given the high protein), if you can stomach it. Just remember - it will get better. Cheers!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
missmarthak31 9 Posted January 13, 2017 Thanks everyone. Wow. It been an eventful few days. The hospital experience was frustrating and only added to my anxiety about this whole situation. My doctor was 1 1/2 hours late. So I had to lie/sit there in a gown hooked up to IVs and monitors for longer than I should have. Finally it was over and I was back home. Taking sips of Water and even a few bites of a popsicle. Then my stomach started hurting. I took a short nap but that didn't t seem to help. So the inevitable happened: I threw up. The night was long. I kept waking up every 2 hours or so to take in some Water and just walk around for a while. Today has been better. I had some African Red Tea (yum) then later some chicken broth. So far so good. No more nausea or throwing up. Maybe tomorrow I can mange a Protein shake. Wish me luck! missmarthak31 9 Posted January 15, 2017 Oh man. Im confused? How many calories should I be taking in right now. I can "eat" and drink all day long and still only manage about 200. How does everyone else manage this?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
BlueTuna 0 Posted January 20, 2017 Hello all, glad to have found this forum! I had the ReShape dual balloon insertion on 1/17. The 36 hours after I got home were beyond awful. I was dry-heaving constantly and my entire abdomen felt awful. All of the meds that I was given to help would be vomited out as soon as I took them. My dr gave me anti-nausea suppositories and those really helped. Right now, though, I have consumed very few calories and am finding it impossible to get many in. Over the course of the day so far I have been having a sip of Water every few minutes, tried 1/2 a popsicle, had a bite of Jello (ew), had a few sips of an ensure shake (per my dr) and gagged down a package of pudding. My abdomen just HURTS I've read many scary reviews online where people had the balloons removed because they couldn't tolerate them. I truly hope that doesn't happen for me!
