3 days into pre-op diet

Recommended Posts

So far today is day 3 and i stepped on the scale and lost 4 lbs... Honestly though Iam miserable i just want to cry but i keep on trucking!.... 1 more week and i have my surgery. I am so blessed to have my husband and my few friends support me through this i know so many aren't that lucky. I can't wait to start my healthy life again physically and mentally.

It will definitely be worth it! What are you dealing with as far as being miserable? The only thing I dealt with was slight headaches. I wasn't as hungry as I expected to be. Remember to drink a lot of Fluid. It helps with the hunger. :)

Thanks for posting, it's such a support to hear that I'm not alone. In my tough times it's helpful to get support from reading everyone's struggles and their perseverance to overcome. You can do it!

I am on day 13 of the liquid diet. I can't tell you it gets easy, but I can tell you it gets easier. Make sure you get lots of Protein. Drink lots of Water. And find ways to stay busy! Just remember what it's all for!

I too am also on my pre-op I'm 2 days away from surgery and I feel much better than I did when I first started. I've lost 8lbs and I couldn't be happier that it's finally here. I'm glad to have found this website to read about other people's experiences. It's good to share with people who have gone through or are sharing in what your going through.

Hang in there. My liquid preop started on a Monday. I felt awful until I woke up Friday am and actually feeling great. It gets bad then better...at least for me

You're allowed to take liquid Tylenol. That's what I took, and it helped. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
