6 weeks post op. Tolerating things very well. I am on solid foods as I can handle. Still a few things I haven't tried but most part I feel great after eating. I am measuring I an getting in my protien and Water 95% of the time.

Rny was Nov 7th. But since my pre op diet I have only lost 43 lbs. I am feeling like this us so minimal. They say don't compare but how hard is it when I see people's weight just shed. I walk everyday. hard to keep positive when it just never feels like enough. Maybe it's all brain games for me or maybe I am too excited to start noticing myself but I still feel like the 300 +lbs girl. I question if I'm not eating the right things even though it's all mostly protien. Don't get me wrong I am proud to say I am 40 lbs lighter but I just don't feel it's enough.

Just needed a little vent this is my safe zone ;) I love you guys here.

40 pounds in 6 weeks??? That's awesome. Keep up the good work. Stay positive. If you don't feel the scale is moving, you might just be in a stall. It'll pass.

Ditto AC3!!! That's incredible! It does seem that the weight loss rate varies from person to person. I can tell you not to compare your journey to others but I'm sure at times I'll be doing the same. As much as possible Celebrate your success thus far! I personally think you're doing great! Your success is motivating people like me who are at the 5 lb loss mark! Keep it up and stay positive. You've got this!

This is Day 6 and I have gained 15 pounds. My blood pressure went dangerously low. They helped combat that with extra fluids. I know in my mind this will change, but it's frustrating. Hoping it goes down some by the time I see my surgeon in 18 days.

Your progress is wonderful. Just stick with your plan, and be proud of any loss you have. You're doing gread!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
