Am i hungry?

Hey y'all. I'm 18 days post op and I'm down 19 lbs. Yay? I honestly feel I should be farther along than I am. I have followed all guidelines and required foods.... I just started my pureed/soft food diet 5 days ago.. Now I think I'm hungry....all the time. I know it's just in my head......i think....

I remember feeling that early on too (unless I was vomiting which I did quite a lot of). I was worried that the surgery hadn't worked as it should. I don't know the answer to why it happened but I can tall you that once I got on to solid food and began to eat more normally (or as normally as I think I am ever going to eat) that went away and I found I was full sooner than expected and or longer between meals.

My advice is to give it time and push your fluids between meals because dehydration can make you either nauseated or hungry.

Congratulations on the 18 pounds That is about 1 pound a day! That is an awesome start. I think the early losses are important because they encourage you when things are tough. Keep hanging in there and wait for your body to settle down. Soon you will look back and smile to see how far you have come.

I've been hanging around on these boards for awhile, and I would say the majority of people lose 15-25 lbs the first month (a few more, a few less - but I'd say that's the average range). I lost 16 lbs my first month, and I've lost over 200 lbs total. So you are exactly where you should be!
