Enufz "E" Nuff 0 Posted September 17, 2007 hi y'all ... im looking for surgery at the mo, to be honest i had not thought about it before till i saw an old school friend and was shocked how good he looked, the last time i saw him he was a large chap, and now thin as a rake, tanned and full of Beans :clap2: .. cut a long story short he had had a band fitted while working "down under", so it got my grey matter tinkling and thought hmmmmm .. shall i ? but alas ... one thing stands in the way "you have to pay for it" :Banane20: so im looking for a recommended surgeon that also likes to help out in the way of a "slate" ... ive always been a chunky fellow from the age of around 10 onwards (39 now) and battled constantly to keep on top of it, to be honest i cannot remember a time in my life where ive not been on a diet ... i can honestly say its not for what i eat either, i just have a mega slow metabalism, ive had tests to check thyroid etc and they have always come back as "ok". if im totaly honest, i have been taking large amounts of laxatives for around 20 years on and off, even though i know they dont really work ... i have a good friend who trains jockeys and ive even tried the good old jockeys trick of taking a tablet loaded with "worm" eggs as another hope, wait 3 days and out they pop, wait another 10 days to mature and let them do there work ... i can actualy say though that they worked great i was losing over a stone a month without dieting, aparently its an old victorian way of losing weight my BMI is 30, and realise that most UK docs wont consider this .. so what are my options, at the end of the day, if ya paying for it, it should be down to the individual ... should'nt it ? well thats my story for all its worth .. i actualy feel better now ive got that of my chest :Banane20: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
