jmac101 0 Posted December 16, 2016 They detected a small leak after 3 mths. It is where my esophagus and stomach are sewn together. I dont have any major pain or issues except eating solid foods. They out me onantibiotics for 2 weeks and tested the leak again. Its still there. Sense i dont have any symptoms they wont do anything. They think it will heal its self. Im nervous its not going ro heal. Should i trust my Dr? Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

LipstickLady 25,682 Posted December 17, 2016 MMMmmm... As a prior brain tumor gal, I am not a big fan of the watch and wait method. I'd demand it be fixed, personally. And it SUCKS that this happened to you. I am so sorry.

sc101071 398 Posted December 17, 2016 Scared going in to surgery I read a lot about this. That's the spot most leaks happen. Even with over stitching, it's bc of the tightness and pressure in that area. And it's not really wait and see. I am sure your doc will monitor it very well, but the alternative is more invasive. I've read most leaks heal themselves. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
