show1980 38 Posted December 16, 2016 I'm going to India with school and I will be 9 weeks out. My doc thinks I'll do fine as long as I stay hydrated on bottled Water. The instructor suggests taking some back up foods since India offers a lot of spicy foods. Any ideas on non perishables I can take? So far I have tuna packs and almonds. Lema 236 Posted December 18, 2016 I am going to India in 8 weeks but I will be 9 months out. Take your Protein powder and bars. It will be hot in there so make sure you stay hydrated and don't worry about the food being too spicy. You can always get chicken that is not cooked in curry which will not be too spicy. You can also dilute their lentil Soups and have that if you get tired of chicken. Stay away from bread and rice because there will be a lot of that. I can tolerate spicy food very well but that's because I have been having spicy food since I was born. If I were in your place and I had no other choice, I would rely on my Protein shakes and fruits with very little bit of their food to take care of the sodium needs.
