justabitunique 29 Posted December 16, 2016 It hurts my chest and stomach sometimes when I take a drink of something. Is this normal? I'm thinking this may be the gas but not sure Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm thinking this may be the gas but not sure Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App It's very normal! Getting up to walk will help the pain along with gas-X strips. Walk walk walk as I walked every two hours and it definitely helped. When my stomach would hurt after drinking I would just take smaller sips and it seems to have worked for me. I had my surgery 12/12/16, so I'm day 5 post-op. Good luck! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Serenity26 119 Posted December 16, 2016 Gas x stripa are dissolved on ur tongue best things ever. My doctor recommend them and they helped . I wouldn't want to be chewing anything right away I don't even think I was allowed just being on liquids .
Malin 470 Posted December 16, 2016 yes!!! The strips are amazing and freshen your breath too! Bonus! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
justabitunique 29 Posted December 16, 2016 I've been using the strips but they're not helping as much as they do for others and I walk but it doesn't get rid of the pain either. I burp every now and then and it helps for a second but that's it. Does it hurt you guys when you get up to walk? For me, my stomach feels heavy and sore and then my biggest incision that my stomach came out of feels pulled at. It's bearable, but I stand for 5-10 minutes and need to sit back down again. I'm assuming that maybe I'm just still wore out from a major surgery but idk Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
highfunctioningfatman 2,675 Posted December 17, 2016 Try something other than Water. I still can't drink plain water. I drink Propel, Vitamin water zero, Gatorade g2 and Powerade Zero. Typically I drink the Powerade mixed 50/50 with water.

Typically I drink the Powerade mixed 50/50 with water. Water has always been my favorite, so I'm not sure. It hurts even when I don't take a drink. I'm thinking it's the gas because it a gurgling, rumbling, burn type of feeling Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
