Joypod 9 Posted December 18, 2016 Mini gastric bypass is a very different operation than RNY gastric bypass. The mini seems to be popular in Mexico, Europe and Australia but not in the U.S.Actually, the only difference is there's one anastomosis instead of two. The weightloss, Vitamin deficiency etc are the same as RNY. However, the surgery time is reduced and they are less complications, again because of the one join instead of two. Pre-surgury. asearcy93 0 Posted January 2, 2017 I had the MGB on 9/5/16. My weight pre-surgery was 245 lbs. to date, I am 186 lbs. this procedure was the best thing for me. My goal weight is 155 lbs. Starting off, the weight loss seemed slow, but that is better I'm told! My struggles have been mostly with eating enough, as I rarely want too. And, with meeting my daily Protein requirements. Since the surgery, my hair is shedding more. Anyone have any tips for this? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal AppMy surgery is scheduled on 2/28/2017 for the sleeve. But I have done lots of research and my program has many classes and support groups o have been too and had to attend 6 months of nutrition classes prior to approval. I use powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein shakes, they are tasty and are medical grade and don't have all the extra nonsense in there. They also have a chicken broth flavor that is good and unflavored. You can sprinkle the unflavored on anything and as long as it's not over 140 degrees it won't change the consistency. That can help you get an easy 20 g of Protein in right there, and with the requirement 60-80 that covers a big portion. biggestloser85 1 Posted February 12, 2017 What is the mini gastric bypass Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
asearcy93 0 Posted February 12, 2017 A mini gastric bypass is a less invasive alternative to standard gastric bypass; but produces similar results. This procedure is performed laparoscopically, meaning the surgeon works through several small incisions and uses a tiny camera (called a laparoscope) and a television screen to guide special instruments through the incisions. I've lost a total of 64 lbs since 9/6/16 and feel good.
biggestloser85 1 Posted February 12, 2017 Oh I've never heard of it called that I'm having the gastric bypass laparoscopic. I live in Columbus Ohio and most of the surgeons here prefer to do the bypass laparoscopic because of less likely to get infection and you heal quicker. My bypass is scheduled for March 16th
