suzzzzz 1,005 Posted December 14, 2016 It is very exciting to get to soft food stage. However, you will still need to use Protein supplements to meet your goals. Even on solid food at 5.5 mths out, I still have a shake a day and sometimes a Protein Bar.
Polarbearwifey 25 Posted December 14, 2016 Yeah I might do the Protein bar for now cause omg I get too tired of them. Thank you for the advice Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sai 785 Posted December 15, 2016 As soon as I was put on soft foods, I never had another "Protein shake". I did continue with unflavored Protein if I couldn't meet my protein goals on a given day. I mix it with my coffee. Congratz, am thrilled for you. I couldn't wait to get off of liquids myself. blizair09 3,250 Posted December 15, 2016 I have been able to get all of my Protein from food since Halloween (easy day to remember). I was SO THANKFUL to be able to kick the Protein shakes to the curb!

clk 3,519 Posted December 15, 2016 Quest bars are great. And don't swear off shakes. I supplemented my Protein for the first two or three years with a Protein shake or coffee a day. It helps! Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App
be4unoit 27 Posted December 16, 2016 I'm glad I like Protein Shakes. Two Pure Protein (35g each) and one Dannon Oikos Triple zero yogurt (15g) takes care of the majority of my protein. I don't have to add any powder to anything (thankfully because I hate it!)
Dknal2 1,066 Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) Do you purchase flavored Dannon oikos triple zero yogurt or is it plain Greek yogurt? I used to love Greek yogurt but I can't eat the plain one. I don't have to add any powder to anything (thankfully because I hate it!)Good suggestion! I keep dropping money for things I can't tolerate! Will try this, cuz I am having a horrible time getting my protein in. I have tried everything, but the smell and taste of the protein makes me puke it back up. So far am using Atkins shakes, Healthy Wise Soups, Atkins Lift Water (as tolerated), but I had to get something in my system that would stay down. So I had to go to soft food more quickly than I wanted. Cottage cheese and very, very soft Salmon. Now I can tolerate the Oikas Greek Yogurt so far. I have tried adding the Protein Powder to stuff, but even holding my nose doesn't work. Blech! Do you purchase flavored Dannon oikos triple zero yogurt or is it plain Greek yogurt? Polarbearwifey 25 Posted December 20, 2016 @@Miss Impala why you are adding Protein powder to the Oikos Greek Yogurt?? It has 22g of Protein by itself. How many grams of protein do you need daily?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
