kayshabear 44 Posted December 14, 2016 I too had my surgery Monday, and I just hurt all over from all the pressure. I came home last night around 6:30pm and did nothing but sleep until almost 11am. I am trying to get liquids in but it is so hard.. I have barely gotten half a bottle of Water down and 2 tiny bites of yogurt. I try to walk when I can though. I hope it gets better too. The dry heaves are terrible. Sent from my ZTE A2017U using the BariatricPal App
dvallas 9 Posted December 14, 2016 I also had surgery on 12/12. I am struggling to get my liquids in and am spending most of my time on couch. Anyone know when we start to feel better? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Yardsleever 81 Posted December 14, 2016 I had my sleeve on the 12th also, and came home yesterday. I slept most of the night, but have been up and walking the house today. I did take a good nap this afternoon, and have been sipping hot tea as my liquid to help with the gas, and sucking on my gas x strips. I have minimal pain so I took Tylenol vs the oxycodone they prescribed. I am praying it gets better for you both. jackieemac 36 Posted December 14, 2016 I had mine the 7th and my right side was the only painful spot and my surgeon says it's common because that's where they took out the stomach. So maybe that's the same for you. Try ice chips to get Fluid in. It allows you to keep your mouth wet and hydrate with slow sips when you swallow. dyemond11 43 Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) I had my surgery 12/12 as well. The dry heaves is the Worst!!!! It seemed constant for me until after I got my swallow test and they gave me some magic meds to take it away. I've been in pain, but my Dr. had his patients up walking after surgery. We had to do at least twenty laps total around the hospital wing. Walking makes the pain feel a little better. It helps prevent blood clots, but also will move the gas around if you have any. Walking has become my best friend in relieving pain other than pain meds. I have 3 incisions and one incision for drainage total 4. The one on the right is very painful as that's where the majority of the work was done. It hurt so bad I couldn't even move after surgery. I sleep sitting up elevated by pillows and when I'm in pain between meds I walk. You said your eating yogurt? I'm on Clear Liquids the first 3 days don't know if that could b making your pain worst. Erissel 12 Posted December 14, 2016 You said your eating yogurt? I'm on Clear Liquids the first 3 days don't know if that could b making your pain worst. My surgery was 12/9 and I was sipping on a Protein shake the morning after. Yogurt the day after that. No pain, no nausea. Every plan is different. Are you suggesting she should go against her doctor's advice?

Understood that all Doctors orders are different, but every gastric sleeve is the same. I was making a comparison of the experiences. opie7799 69 Posted December 15, 2016 My plan has yogurt or Greek yogurt as a Protein supplement in addition to the shakes. I eat at least 1 a day with absolutely no problems. They even gave me yougurt in the hospital. Each plan is different. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
