krystalb4rny 26 Posted December 14, 2016 Bypass Surgery was 11/29 lost 16 lbs on the liver shrinking diet. I was 286 the morning of surgery and now I'm 2 weeks out and barely down to 276. A co worker had the sleeve done on 12/6 and is down 34 lbs total. Don't get me wrong I'm extremely excited for her but it makes me kinda sad that I'm not losing like she is. I just broke my almost 5 day stall this morning. I feel like this weight is just never going to go anywhere Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

krystalb4rny 26 Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) I'm getting between 50-60 oz of Water and meeting my Protein goal. I came back to work as a medical assistant a week after surgery so I'm always moving. I just feel like my body is just not willing to let it go lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Edited December 14, 2016 by krystalb4rny
thprice79 20 Posted December 14, 2016 I was sleeved 11/7. Lost 20 lbs the first two weeks, but I'm now 5 weeks out and haven't lost anything else. I do know that everyone loses at a different pace, so I'm not worried. Don't let it worry you. Stalls and plateaus are normal! Travelher 915 Posted December 15, 2016 You should watch dr. Weiners video on this on youtube. Basically he explains that weight loss in year 1 is largely determined by genetics...so it is not productive to compare yourself to others. After all we all know someone who eats macdonalds all day long and complains they cant gain weight and are stuck at 100lbs. As long as you develop good habits now you will be successful after that 1 year mark. I'll have you know that you are losing way faster than I did and there are people who are losing at slower rates than me. In no definition of the word is 5lbs a week considered slow. I would consider that absurdly fast and do cartwheels if that was my rate of weight loss. I'm curious how quickly you've lost on diets before that you are disappointed at a 5 lb per week average loss Post-op.

I have been at a stall and fluctuating between 2 lbs for the past 3 weeks. It's very frustrating, but I am quickly realizing that I'm not the only one this happens to (thanks to this app!). Good luck to you! Sent from my VS985 4G using the BariatricPal App

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App My last diet I lost 80 lbs in 3.5 months. But it stopped at that and I gained it all back over the last 3 years. Travelher 915 Posted December 16, 2016 Wow, that is astounding I've never met anyone who has lost that much so quickly on a diet. Fastest weight loss most people achieve is 10 lbs a month and usually just at the beginning. No wonder you have such high expectations. I could literally eat nothing and not lose that quickly. Nymea 87 Posted December 18, 2016 I have had regular stalls for 2 -4 weeks right from the start but it seems that just as I am losing hope I will drop 5 or 6 pounds overnight. I often wonder where it went so suddenly lol. So now I have accepted that I will lose a big lump then not change at all for a few weeks. Give it time and learn how YOUR new body is going to react .. remember that you are different from everyone else who has traveled this path and your journey will be different from anyone else's. Take comfort in the fact that by 6 months you should be able to see significant progress ... and don't panic unless you see the scales moving dramatically in the wrong direction.
