show1980 38 Posted December 14, 2016 I'm in my 6th week. I still cook for the family. Family is still going out to eat and I'm pretending everything is okay. I'm losing weight (slowly) but I'm beginning to want old foods, meals that the family eats. I eat my Protein and few bites of veggies but feels weird. I do self-talk and quickly try to remove myself. I guess honestly, I feel like I'm missing out. Maybe it's time to expand meal choices maybe?
Aggiemae 739 Posted December 14, 2016 My meal plan allows for 3:1 protein:carbs up to 25 mg of any carb of my choice. I generally stick with low calorie choices but have a bit or two of potatoes or yams and once a 1 cubic inch piece of peach pie that I ate very slowly with a baby spoon and really enjoyed. We at out often. I try to drink 16 oz of iced lemon Water before the food arrives then have a cup of Soup and take the 1-2 oz of food off my husband's plate. Working ok so far except he sometimes has to order gravy/sauce
ShelterDog64 2,364 Posted December 14, 2016 @@show1980 I think it's easy to get bored with food early on, but I kind of like the lack of variety that I can get by with, honestly. When I cook now, I'm cooking very basic protein/veg meals, with no starch included unless one of the family wants to make rice or something. Grilled chicken with sauteed kale/onions/garlic was dinner last night, tonight will be zoodles with spaghetti sauce which has turned out to be a popular Pasta stand-in. I make pork tenderloin with chard, steak with mushrooms, etc. and let them add a starch in as they want, like oven roasted potatoes/sweet potatoes or butternut squash. show1980 38 Posted December 14, 2016 @ShelterDog64 These are good ideas. I think I'm not yet settled in my changes yet. I will try these.
