Hiccups

Hello all,

I made my sleeve surgery 1 week back. And since than i am having hiccups when i drink Water or Soup etc... Sometimes i hiccups during the day even if i am not having liquids.

Did anyone faced this? What does this means?

I do, but usually when I get to the point of having had enough. I don't burp so I just figure it's my body's way of getting rid of excess air/gas.

I get them at some point every day, but it is over within a matter of seconds.

I got them frequently right after surgery. The doctor told me it was a result of them messing around with my diaphragm while fixing a small hiatal hernia, and that they would go away. They did. If yours continue, ask them to show you your bill. That should work to scare them out of you.

My surgeon said that the Vegas nerve lays near the stomach. It gets aggravated easily in the first few weeks. Hiccups were very common for me in the first few weeks, even now at almost 5 months I get them frequently. Usually if I have eaten too much though. (I didn't have any hernia repair)
