Premiere Roadkill

Recommended Posts

The first week after wls I tasted a hint of the smell of 2 week old roadkill in the Premier Protein shakes. I'm 3 weeks out now and the bad taste is getting worse. Has anyone else have a similar experience?

I practically live off Premier.

Tastes change after surgery. Try some different brands.

I don't know why, but Premier's roadkill flavor Protein Powder has the lowest sales.

I dont use any Protein powder but i have been using Premier Protein ready made shake for more than 2 years now.

I dont smell them at all and although they are not perfect, they are the best Protein Drink i have used and I have tried them all.

For me, I just dont tolerate the powders.

@ I love the Premier ready to drink, tolerate them well even right after my surgery. Smell never bothered me but I did notice that my breath was horrible, like death, maybe it's your breath not the shake you're smelling? My surgery was back in July so my breath is better now, thank God! I can eat almost anything. I think eating fruits and veggis helps a lot.

I started blending the chocolate RTD with ice after surgery. The shake was too thick right out of the carton and did have a funny smell and after taste to me. The ice and blending loosened it up a little and made it tolerable (and gave it a little crunch which made it more appetizing from the ice chunks).

I switched to GENEPRO and haven't looked back, a little frozen fruit, ice and GENEPRO and I have myself a fruit smoothy everyday.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
