mbuczkowski 272 Posted December 12, 2016 I am single and live with my 2 dogs. So, I need family assistance with Hospital and the dog care when I go in for surgery. My whole family has been understanding, but last night my dad had a glimmer in his eye of excitement for me. I used to compete in triathlons (for fun) and he was asking if I thought I could start again next year. I could hear it in his voice too. He is 72 and still doing then....ranked 3rd in his age group nationally. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted December 12, 2016 It's nice to read about someone who's family is in. Too often the posts are the opposite. P.S. You'll need someone to fetch you out of the hospital. Whatever help you need while in will be provided by staff. Dog-sitting, yes, of course.
mbuczkowski 272 Posted December 12, 2016 My sister works in the hospital and can take me home....or my mom is good with going to my pre-op appt and taking me home. I do protection training with the dogs, so my trainer has also volunteered to take the dogs if my family can't. Luckily my family all live within 7 miles of each other. sleeve12/13 9 Posted December 12, 2016 You are blessed to have family support. Hang in there! Sounds like the dogs will be good company too! I enjoyed your post? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
mbuczkowski 272 Posted December 14, 2016 Had another discussion with the family tonight. This time it included my brother's in laws. His MIL has the bypass 19 years ago. She shared her God and bad stories. This genuine support warms me and makes me a bit sad to see other people not getting the same support from family Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
