Puréed and soft foods

Recommended Posts

Hi folks. I was sleeved 12/2 and have my first follow up appt tomorrow. I've been on Clear liquids all week and am expecting to be cleared for puréed and soft foods tomorrow. I'm trying to put together a specific list of items to ask about so I know exactly what my allowances and limitations are. Any suggestions? What have you found is a great choice in this stage?

Refried Beans were my favorite on soft foods. With cheese and sour cream :) Also, yogurt, ricotta bake (do a search, you'll find the recipe), cottage cheese, thicker Soups, flaky fish, scrambled/poached egg. I had some mashed potatoes, too, but some avoid them. I tried to stay away from pudding, although many patients eat it.

You'll love getting off liquids, just take it easy and introduce things slowly!

Did they send you home with a list? I'm still on Clear Liquids but drool over my list of purees constantly. LOL

Woot woot a new phase!

Pay attention to your body sometimes the doctor will release you but your body is not ready.

I didn't start puree until 4 weeks out.I stared with poached eggs. Yogurt. Chili. Get creative.

See? I wish all the doctors would say this same thing! I specifically asked about poached eggs, since they're a favorite of mine, and was told no uncooked yolk. ......sigh..... Frustrating. I will probably just cook them a tiny bit more to bring the temp up without cooking though, then mix them with cottage cheese or something.
