Glad to see you are aware of all those blessings coming your way.... great job!!! Stay focussed on the positive and leave the negative in the dust! The idea of including your ex as dead wait is awesome, I second that one... lol!

From one nurse to another (you got this)... Job well done!!!!

Thanks so much My4Brownies. Lol I heard you loud & clear. Lol. Love Missouri. Special place in my heart. I have a lot of relatives around the Jefferson City, MO. I thank God every day & will continue for being there for me through all of this & friend from church said think God had me find out all the truth too because been easier moving on in right direction I feel God has me on now without him. It was crazy he had two lives. He went to church one weekend with me & next weekend when in clinicals he was cheating on me. I am getting ready now to head to church to praise God for so many blessings in life & you are right - glad had surgery before too. I feel wonderful now & really loving myself too inside & out. God bless you & Merry Christmas too.

I could not imagine what you must of been feeling. What you are feeling now. But sister, let me tell you something: sometimes the best thing someone can do for us is get out-of-the-way/make space and it is always a sign of imminent expansion. That is, life is about to change/is changing. You are about to change/are changing. Life is about to get bigger/is getting bigger, even though in this particular case your body is actually getting smaller! A whole new world is opening up to you. He wants to stay in the world he is used to. Let him.

@ veryblessed... I really hate that you had to go through this at a time when you need support. I have been a RN for 8 years and I remember clinical plus class was a monster. So much pressure and so little time for anything else in the world. I feel he took advantage of that but the only thing he did was help to reveal God's plan for you. His word tells us that he will never leave us or forsake us. So you are never alone. You are going to be just fine, your faith and strength will get you through this. My husband was so against me having the surgery that he did not go with me to have it, my 20 year old son did. That hurt me. He said everything in the world to discourage me from having the surgery pre- op. But I prayed my way through it and God made it happen for me. I am 6 days post op and he really doesn't say much of anything about it. But I feel that as I lose more weight he is going to have some things to say. I will not allow him to make my journey about him and his negativity because this is about me becoming a better me. If it ends bad, then oh well I have to press forward. I think you are strong and blessed in every aspect of the word. Congrats on becoming a nurse and I pray that you get a job on bariatric floor because you will be a great inspiration to so many people. Take care.

Hi Dknal2, Thank you so much & good to hear from a nurse. Yes school with working full time was hardest thing I ever did. I am really looking forward to what God has plans for me. I am so thankful I found out the truth also so can become stronger in every way. I am sorry to hear your husband is not supportive of you in your surgery. I hope he comes around to support you because this is all for the better for you & I feel he should want the best for you. You are strong also. I am glad to here you say regardless what happens you are looking at things that are best for you. I wish you all the best & pray all works out for you also. Thank you for your kind words too.

Thank you. I doing better now. Pushed through a lot of different emotions but the anger & disgusted feelings I now have for him helped me move on more too. You are right in what you have said. Thank you.

Amazing story! My friend was sleeved this year. She received her divorce papers (she had no clue he was divorcing her) before she could discuss the surgery with him. She got her surgery, showed up to court looking HAWT! 9 months later, 100 pounds down and a new love----she is happpppppy.

Congrats on all the good things happening to you and for you!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
