I'm 11 days out and I'm cleared for just about everything except beef/pork and raw vegetables. (My program skips the "full liquids" and "soft food" stages)

We're heading out to Chinese food right now... I haven't decided if I want green Beans and tofu, a chicken dish, some Soup, or maybe some ma po!

Depends on your plan. But a small amount of Kung Pao chicken or Hunan Chicken are my thing.

I found this bariatric friendly Chinese page online because I was a huge (quite literally) Chinese foodie. These recipes I found look good- I havent tried them yet!

I had Chinese food the other day with some girls from work. I got the half order of pineapple chicken, no rice, no noodles, while the others got the buffet. It was delicious, big chunks of chicken, pineapple, onion and peppers. I ate it again for lunch and supper the next day with what I brought home.

Assuming you are on regular foods, I get the green Beans with chicken kids meal at Panda Express with veggies as the side. I give the cookie to my husband.

At ELEVEN days out? Phew! Living life on the edge... I was still on full liquids. :D

I was advanced pretty quickly too but part of that is because I was not enjoying the pureed stage so I asked if I could just chew the supreme crap out of the next stage of food and was given the ok.

I wasn't "enjoying" it either, but enjoying got me to the point where I needed WLS, so... :P

My surgeon's practice skips full liquids and mushy foods unless regular food isn't tolerated. And so far, I have tolerated everything I've eaten. I just eat a lot less than I used to, and skip carbs.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
