Got approved but still not sure....

I was about 70 pounds overweight and was healthy too. I had high cholesterol , but dr said it was probably hereditary - I regretted my choice for months, but am happy with it now. I still have twenty more to lose. But really like how uninterested I am in food :)

I wouldn't be scared of the surgery - but life is really different afterwards that's for sure

Great luck to you!!!

I never even got wisdom teeth to have them out so this was my legit first time- I told the nurse I was nervous and she asked if I wanted a "cocktail" so I wouldn't be nervous and I said sure - I don't even remember being wheeled back to the or next thing I remember is waking up and then telling me I was done- I was on a hydromorphine drip for a day and a half and then went to norco didn't feel a thing and the worst that happened to me was a head ache from the anesthesia that wouldn't go away- I'm only five days post op so this is all very fresh for me- I haven't touched any of the pain meds given to me in a script for take home because the pain is mild at best - I only notice it when trying to get up or sit down if I'm moving around or just sitting in pain free

I have had a few surgeries in my life. I never fear the anesthesia. My only problem is that my veins dry out quickly if I can't drink,so putting in an iv might be tricky.

You can get some meds for anxiety if you feel you need it. But it's just a waiting game.

Once in the operating room they attach all kind of monitoring devices to you, blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen etc. None of them hurt.

After the iv is inserted, all the meds are going in thru that. One of them stung, but not too bad. Then they have you breathing from the mask before you get the actual knock out drug, so you have oxygen in your blood when they are intubating you. I can taste the knock out drug in my mouth and then I'm off to sleep. Next thing I know is waking up in the recovery room.

My worst part was the gas pain, but it got better the instant I was able to get up in a sitting position. I had rny, but everyone gets gas in their abdomen.

Good luck with your desicion!

Nilla

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
