2.5 months out, 50lbs gone!

Recommended Posts

By no means am I at goal, but I'd you would have told me on Sept 26th that is be 50lbs lighter before Christmas, I would have told you that you're insane. Yet here i am! I have 60 more to go before I'm at goal, but for the first time in my life, I can see myself getting there. That's a lot to wrap my head around. The lowest weight I ever remember being is 186 in 6th grade.

So pictures are worth 1000 words. The first pic was July 1st, two weeks before my first appt with the surgeon. The second was tonight. post-301190-14812563050883_thumb.jpg post-301190-1481256312131_thumb.jpg

@@melunruh You are doing great!!! Awesome job!! Doesn't it feel amazing? My surgery was May 16th just a little over 6.5 months ago and as of this morning I'm down 99.8 pounds!! just 2.2 pounds away from meeting my goal of 150......I'm hoping to hit my goal by Christmas. What a present that will be!!

So keep doing what you're doing and keep remembering this feeling you have now and use it for motivation on the days when you struggle. Congrats!!!

Thanks everyone! Setting a better example for my daughter is one odd my huge motivating factors! She had started going to see my trainer with me on the weekends and we've signed up for a 5k women's only obstacle course on April 8th. I would have NEVER considered doing that in my past. I'm loving the extra energy I have now. Even my daughter mentored this morning how much happier I am! Ron and autumn, I look forward to keeping up with you two!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
