Getting back on track?!

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved in March 2016 and after about the 50 pound loss mark - I have been stalled since August. My restriction has lessened as well, and I feel myself being able to eat much more. I also gained some weight back that I lost. I've started to get frustrated and depressed which isn't helping. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? I feel as though I should have lost much more by now.

I am tracking food intake, carbs- I try for less than 100, and calories about 1200 - 1500 a day. Was going to the gym 5x a week, but not as often now since the busy time of year - about 2x/week.

Starting: 245

Lowest: 185

Current: 195

Goal: 150

5 foot 4, Female 25 yrs.

Friends and family say I am being too hard on myself, but I disagree. Any tips or suggestions would help, please!

Sounds like you may be getting too many calories, I aim for less than 1000 and I'm 5'6 at 177 right now. If you aren't working out as much you may be taking in more calories then you are burning which will cause weight gain.

Hope that helps- good luck!!

I agree it sounds like too many calories and way too many carbs....I keep my carbs below 30, and calories around 800. My surgery was 5/16/16 starting weight was 252 and this morning I weighed 152.8.....less than a pound away from losing 100 pounds!

Good luck to you.

I agree with izzy13. But, I was there. I had my sleeve on March 15th, 2016 also. I remember when things started to slow down for me and I noticed the weight loss was slow or none. I shocked my body quick!

I was walking 1 to 2 times three to four days a week. I stopped walking for a week, then the following week I walked 3 times 4 to 5 times that week. Same with food. I went easy peasy on my calorie intake. More Snacks like cottage cheese and bell peppers and sometimes a slice of turkey. Protein powder on EVERYTHING! even in Water, tea, coconut Water (all natural).

My advice is what izzy13 mentioned and to SHOCK your body. You will see a difference. Good luck and best wishes!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
