So I'm 2 months out and was at 265, with a total of 59 lbs lost since surgery and 107 total. This was my weight on Sunday. Today I weighed myself because I've been feeling a little swollen and was up 3.5lbs. I'm eating like I have been and drinking lots of Water. I haven't worked out in a week.

Is this a cause for concern? Is it normal? Should I call my Dr? I can't possibly be eating enough to gain real weight, I'm at about 550,600 calories a day.

You may have had more sodium. I wouldn't panic. My weight does fluctuate from time to time. Also (warning: possible Tmi) you may not have had a healthy bm. That sometimes helps. ????

I'm experiencing the same exact thing. I called my nutritionist after I fluctuated between the same 3 lbs for over a week. I was eating between 500-700 calories and he told me I should have been increasing to 850-1000 by this point. I did so and lost .7 by the next morning. Call your team and get their opinion. They will help you figure it out.

Is it your time of the month? My weight always increases for a week then. It's normal.

Could be a stall or plateau. They are common. Your body wants to hold on to the weight. You can look up the thread embrace the stall. It has great information on how to break them. Up to you...but think about reevaluating your exercise.

First of all, you lost 59 pounds in 2 months? That is insane, I have never heard of anyone losing that quickly. You do realize there is no way you can keep losing at that rate, especially since you weren't super heavy when you started.

Lots of things can make your weight fluctuate: hormones being number one. Do you still have a cycle? Is it now or coming soon?

Also, things like sodium intake, etc.

Everyone experiences fluctuations and stalls along this journey. It is normal to go weeks without losing even if you ARE doing everything by the book. Some men will reach their goal in 6 months, women usually take 9 months to a year, with those having less to lose losing more slowly.

But wow, you have lost a pound a day and you are complaining? I wish I had your problems :)

Laceemouse, I was 324 when I had the surgery, and 372 when I started the process. I'm wicked happy about the progress trust me! I am just a little concerned because of the weight gain. Wasn't sure if it was something to be calling the Dr about. I know I can't keep up the extreme weight loss, but wouldn't that be nice ;) still have about 100lbs to go!

Thanks for the input guys. I called my NUT earlier and she did recommend increasing my calories a bit and not working out as vigorously as I have been, so I'm going to try that. I'll let you know how I do :)

Keep up the good work! I'm glad you reached out to your team of doctors, don't be concerned about doing so even for what you may think is the smallest thing...that's what they are there for. :) They would rather you call than to wait.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
