That's Awesome of You'll

Each of You'll will have your other half going through the same thing and who would be Best to understand what you're experiencing that your other half.

Most IMPORTANT, SUPPORT FROM EACH OTHER FOR EACH OTHER.

I PRAY THAT GOD BLESS YOU'LL TO REACH YOU'LL GOALS, AND

IT'S IN JESUS NAME I PRAY.

YOU'LL CAN AND WILL DO IT

So far, we are in the waiting game. I started my pre-op on the 2nd. He has his endoscopy on the 14th and I have my surgery the 16th. He starts his pre-op diet on the 15th. If you want we can all keep in touch. I can let you know how it goes. My main concern is one of us being able to function while the other is down. We live in Texas.

Here. My husband is scheduled for 12/21 and me 1/9. I'm on a cancel list to be moved up. We wanted him to go first so I could help establish the routine so he is prepared when it's my turn. We have 4 kids from 3-almost 17.

Our youngest is 6 and oldest will be 18. With a few more in between. Plus autism to boot. I get to go first because hubby takes his vacation towards the end of month so hopefully won't have too much time off work.

I went to support group tonight and there were folks there who were one week out and functioning just fine. Said the first 24 hours home just slept and were pretty much off the pain meds by day 3 post op. Said if anything only to sleep. If you've had a c-section this is supposed to be a walk in the park in comparison at least I've been told that.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
