I must wait till Friday in order to be advanced to chicken, fruits and veggies. I miss veggies so much! Gosh, fighting with feelings or wanting to cheat again. Zucchini my friend....I miss you. Lol.

Friday will be here before you know it. But, this is a great time to begin taking your focus off food. Find something else that you will also do on Friday. Everytime you find that food is in charge, make yourself do something you've never done and think you will enjoy.

And when Friday gets here, after eating your Protein first, you won't have much room for veggies. But enjoy the bit you get.

I took great joy in being able to eat real food again and didn't feel one moment of guilt over looking forward to it. Any human would. It's almost here! You enjoy your week and good luck with your chicken. Because in the end what you will end up doing is focusing on the Protein. But don't feel bad if you eat some zuccini because you love it so much. :) This is a new lifestyle, not a prison.

The day you are allowed is not always the day you should.

Eat wetter food, especially meats and try eating with a tiny spoon and fork. And chew way more than you have ever chewed before.

I am 3 months out and the 2 times that I threw up, looking at it after, I feel that I did eat too fast.

Take your time eating, chew well and enjoy the food that you are eating (I only eat a couple of bites), when I do that the food goes in just fine.

You know your body better than anyone, just listen to it. Good luck in your journey:)

I picked up plastic childrens forks, knives and spoons just for the occasion. I got an entire set, like six place settings for 2 dollars at my local ikea. Great place to look for non brand name Portion Control containers.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
