How do you define a stall?

Recommended Posts

So I know there are a hundreds of posts on stalls. I am curious to know what variables do people use to determine if they are in fact in a stall. According to the definition of a stall:

stop or cause to stop making progress.
"his career had stalled, hers taken off"
synonyms: obstruct, impede, interfere with, hinder, hamper, block, interrupt, hold up, hold back,thwart, balk, sabotage, delay, stonewall, check, stop, halt, derail, put a brake on;
informalstymie
"the government has stalled the project"
stop, fizzle, flatline, die, reach an impasse, hit a roadblock
"the project has stalled"

I would say the time frame is the key. I know from past experience, that I typically will lose 4-6 pounds then stay steady for a few weeks and then drop again. As I shrink in size, the length of time between drops expands as it takes longer for my body to adjust to the new weight. It seems like on here, if someone doesn't drop weight per day or per week, they think stall. I am just not certain that would qualify as an actual "stall" but I know that is up for interpretation. What do you all think?

I am 5 weeks out tomorrow. From week 2 until last Thursday, I didn't lose any weight. Since this past Thursday I have lost 5 lbs. I say those 10-14 days of no weight loss was a stall. Now I'm back losing again.

If I go 2-3 weeks bouncing around in a 2-3 pound range, that is a stall for me. Then I will drop like 5 lbs in 2 days, lol.

For me I define a stall as no weightloss for a period of 7 day. Most of them have lasted 10-14 days.

I basically used a week without loss as that was when I formally logged my weight (though it was usually checked most every day for other reasons,) and only had one week when I didn't log a loss up to the point that I was within sight of goal and started ramping up the calories to slow things down and ease into maintenance.

      Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

        Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
