Djmohr 6,965 Posted December 5, 2016 Have your bowels been working up to this point? I know it took about 10 days before they did for me and that gas and bloating can be very painful. Water intake does help with it but you might need laxatives.< /p> I would not be afraid to call the doctors office.
danaymacklin 177 Posted December 5, 2016 No. I was thinking the same. Will try a laxative and hope it helps. Was just about to call. Thx Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

dr3am3rstarz 61 Posted December 5, 2016 Did they give you something for the gas pain? They basically, pump you up with a bunch of gas so that they can see the field better. Gasx helps tremendously.. the strips and the chewables. Talk to your doctor. I am post op 11/28 and still feel minor pain from the gas, but it's getting better. Martha Parker-mcneal 166 Posted December 5, 2016 ditto to all the advice. the gas was much worse than the surgery pain. Water exercise and gas meds are great one thing that did help me also was heating pad the warm feeling seemed to get the gas bubble moving for me good luck
YoungExec 48 Posted December 6, 2016 All of the response have been great! Walking really helped me, gas ex, colace, water!!! Also think about your milk consumption, I had to switch to lactose free milk to help reduce gas as well. Find a position that is comfortable to pass gas and make this your go to body position. For example my mornings are very productive for gas while laying in the bed. Hang in there!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
