I'm three months out this past week!

It just dawned on me that...

  1. I'm down almost two shirt sizes
  2. My neck is down 3 inches
  3. My waist size is down 8 inches.

Holy buckets... and at my NUT appointment she told me that I may be losing a bit fast.

Just wanted to crow a bit. :)

NUT told me I may be losing a bit fast.

@@HanSolo1977

hey dude

you MEN!!!!

you lose weight faster than women!!

that's a fact Jack!!

your starting weight was a higher #than many

the more you have to lose initially

the weight usually comes off quicker to start with

eventually it will slow down a bit

was some of that weight lost pre-op?

all of it since gastric bypass?

what was NUT's explanation concerning quick weight loss

why was she concerned?

(i gotta admit 129 lbs is a lot in 3 months)

keep up the good work while i see "less and less" of you!!

kathy

congrats

@@proudgrammy some of that weight loss was preop. About half of it...

The NUT was a bit concerned that I am losing a bit more than 1-2 lbs a week. I've been averaging 3-4. She really didn't get into why other than that's what you're supposed to do.

And you're right, we men do lose weight quickly… for me the challenge will be keeping it off. I'm also pretty good at gaining weight too

I love your posts BTW, always so positive.

Congratulations!

My surgeon advises that on average I should be losing about 4lbs a week with the sleeve. So, I think it's great.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
