Hi everyone,

I have been reading everyone's comments and trying to gain as much knowledge as I can about the lapband. I am about half way thru all the requirments and just found out that I have acid reflux and hyatal hernia. Has anyone had this and if so were you still able to have the l.b. surgery? I guess It matters how big it is but I am so afraid I won't be able to get my l.B. because of it:cry. I am going for the scan down my throat on sept 27 so I am just praying that it will be small enough. If it goes well, they said I was looking at November surgery. Wow, I am scared and excited at the same time. Was anyone afraid they wouldn't be able to stick with it after? thanks for any help you can give me. I certainly would appreciate it.

All of us are lifetime failures at dieting and keeping off weight. That reality makes us question whether or not the Lap-Band will work for us, when we have failed so many times before. The Lap-Band is DIFFERENT, because it puts a physical LIMIT on how much we can hurt ourselves. Also, anyone who isn't nervous about having MAJOR SURGERY is very unusual.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
