Please tell me day 4 is better then day 2!

Recommended Posts

That first week was really rough. Everything hurts, your insides are still swollen and tender so you can't drink your liquids, it is hard to bend over or reach, and it hurts to sit up or roll over in bed. I promise that it gets better a little every day. Day 7 for me was a huge turning point where all of a sudden, I just felt better.

Focus on your liquids for now and take your pain meds, they will let you walk around which helps the healing process.

Good luck and I'm sure you'll be feeling better in a few days.

@@ambergirl84 glad to hear you are out. I hope you feel better soon fast. I have so many questions for you. What is it you are feeling? Can you keep liquids down? Pain? Do you have pain medicine? Did you stay in hospital two nights? Was there a reason for the extra day, I keep getting told I can go home the next day. Sure...lol After reading a lot of posts what you are feeling is normal and every day gets better. I've been waiting for your update hoping you say everything is great you feel awesome :) hope your flight isn't rough and not long. Tara

I'm 30 day post op. I'd say day 2 was the worst day for me. Just take pain meds and sip Water and sleep. You will feel better tomorrow . And much better the next day. Take care and look forward to the new you! I'm so glad I had the surgery. Down 30 lbs!

All good advice! I hope the pain is a bit better today. Move around, it really makes a huge difference. It makes the gas leave your body faster.

If you feel weak when you are going to the airport, just request mobility service. Just don't mention surgery or they might start asking for fit to fly papers. Say you took a bad fall and need help getting to the gate and also help at your destination. That way you don't need to lift your suitcase and don't have to use up all your energy at the airport. Walk if you can, but this is a good service if you need it. It's free, but a small tip will be appreciated.

You can also call and book the service in advance to make sure you get it.

I hope you feel better . I got sleeved 11/28 and it was kinda painful at trying to get the gas to moved but I remember what a nurse told me it really helped . Take deep breaths and let out through your mouth . And you will get some relief .

Wow, you are strong and brave. This will get better and better. I considered my first week post op to be the worst week. Like hell week during a hazing for a frat house or something, lol...

I PROMISE you it gets so much better! The best advice I saw here was to sip and take the meds. Sip sip sip sip sip! I had trouble sleeping in a bed my first few weeks because if I moved, my gut would shift and the pain would be off the chart. Those pain meds were a lifesaver.

When you get to go home, you'll be surrounded by the comforts of home. Just remember, the first week is the worst week but it will be so much better soon. You will be so glad you did this for yourself. I wish you a speedy recovery and safe trip home!

I had a horrible night with gas pain and did what everyone else is saying: WALK WALK WALK!

It really does help. I do a minimum of 5 laps.

Hang in there, friend, you can do it!

Day four I felt much better and even put on mascara.

My stitches where they removed they stomach was tight, still is the tightest one, my stitches come out tomorrow.

It will be worth it. They gave me tablets for my gas so iv really not suffered to much.

Hang in there,it does get better, After 1 week, you'll see the difference. But continue to walk. I'm on my third week today, couldn't wait to put food in my mouth, even if it's just a bit. The liquids can get a bit boring after 1 wk. But it will be worth it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
