Rachel412 116 Posted December 3, 2016 I'm 17 days out from bypass. My surgeon's WOE is very strict so I just moved up to Clear Liquids, Protein Drinks, plus yogurt 4 days ago. Incidentally I also have woken up with a headache every day since the diet changed. I'm getting in at least 64 oz of (clear) liquids.< /p> Since I can't take ibuprofen and it's got to be something I'm missing in my diet, anyone have any tips? I'm averaging 500 calories a day, 60 g Protein.< /p>
James Marusek 5,244 Posted December 3, 2016 Sorry, I have no idea. Perhaps it is not something you are missing in your diet but rather an addiction response. When I gave up caffeine, I suffered through a week of withdrawal syndrome - severe headaches and body aches. But you are 17 days out so you should be well over this reaction. Perhaps it is related to medication or the cessation of medication. Maybe pain medication.
Rachel412 116 Posted December 3, 2016 I gave up caffeine for my 2 week pre-op so it's definitely not that. And I'm not taking any painkillers...
Treadmillwalker 486 Posted December 3, 2016 Do you live in a colder climate? You may need to put a humidifier in your bedroom at night and one in your main living area. When the climate cools and the air gets dry many people (including me) get headaches from the dry air. It may be coincidence that your surgery coincides with starting up your furnace. IMHO Had lapband surgery 10/12/
