6 weeks out on Thursday.

I eat 2 to 3 ounces of Protein and 2 ounces of vegetables or fruit 3 times a day.

I rely heavily on the Protein shakes (I'm drinking Premier with 30 grams of Protein and chocolate is the best). I try to have at least a half of one a day.

Out of curiosity, when you guys cite these quantities, what exactly is it you're eating?

For instance, I'm 8.5 months out and I can eat 2 cups of something like Split Pea Soup, but there is NO WAY I could eat that much chicken. In fact, I am lucky to get down 2 oz of chicken.< /p>

I can also eat like 10 oz of vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, etc) as a snack. Same with fruit.< /p>

I'm just curious as I see this come up a lot here and am just wondering what types of food you're referring to when you say X Cups or X Ounces.

It's probably worth disclaiming at this point that my plan seems to be very different from others. I am not (nor have been since day one) given quantities I'm allowed to eat (with some exceptions like keep oil/butter to 1 tbsp a day or less, etc). I am just given types of food to eat. In fact, I am encouraged to eat at least a pound of vegetables a day, preferably two pounds.

I'm 6.5 months out... I measure my dense Proteins at 2.7 ounces... that's all I eat when I eat that much. I measure out things like cottage cheese at 1/4 of a cup (for like a snack). If I eat veggies with my meat, I always keep my scale under 3.7 ounces

I eat three meals a day, usually like this Breakfast: 2.5 ounces of steak, Lunch: 2.5 ounces of grilled chicken, snack, 12 pecan halves, Dinner: 2.5 ounces of taco meat with sour cream/cheese/salsa... late night snack is typically a Decaf coffee with coconut Creamer and SF Syrup.< /p>

I've not eaten, nor do I think I could eat, more than 4 ounces in a sitting. I always measure unless I'm out at a restaurant.

I'm 7 weeks out and my NUT has us eating 5 mini-meals a day. I try to drink at least 1/2 Premier Protein shake (5.5 oz) in the morning. Second mini-meal has some type of meat (chicken, meatball, lean lunch meat) - 1 1/2 oz with 1/4-1/2 multi-grain or fruit serving . Third meal might be a cheese stick, Parmesan crisps, hummus or yogurt dip with cucumber slices, with 1/4 - 1/2 multigrain or fruit serving. Fourth meal is supper at home - 1 1/2 oz of meat (chicken, pork, etc) and some type of veggie - 1/4 cup and Fifth meal is the rest of my premier Protein Shake or glass of Fairlife milk.

Little over 3 months out here. 3 oz dense Protein and about 1 oz veggies or other is about perfect for my tummy. I have eaten on occasion 5 to 6 oz total but then I feel uncomfortable. I eat every 2 to 3 hours.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
