Family at the hospital

Recommended Posts

My wife volunteered to stay, but I told her she needed to take care of the dog. Well, that and be rested so she could break me out as soon as possible. I was in for less than 24 hours.

My mom stayed and it was helpful to have someone do things so you don't have to get out of bed (get chapstick, move tray, get remote if it drops etc). Might be worth asking the hospital if they have a pull out bed in the room.

My mom stayed with me so my husband could stay with our kids.

I felt horrible because there was no chair or roll out for her. She slept on the floor. It was awful. We don't live close and she refused to leave because I wasn't doing well after surgery. I feel guilty still but she wouldn't go!

Unless your husband or mother absolutely wants to, it's not really useful at night, I personnaly dozed off between trance-like waking moments when the nurses would check on me and horrid nonsensical nightmares!

But it was nice to have family visits during the day though :)

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
