I'm on January 18th at 7:30 CST in Overland Park, KS a suburb of Kansas City. I'm so pumped and would love to join this group. :D

It's a secret group (because some people do not want their friends and family knowing) so if you would like to join you can message me with your email address and I can add you."

How are you feeling now?

Still having some gas pains no matter how much I am moving around; haven't been able to keep anything down except Water. Doctor said most important thing is to stay hydrated. I am trying my best to keep at least 64 oz down.

It'll get better I'm sure. I know it's hard. I'm getting mine in a couple weeks.

I hope so. I tried to sip on some chicken broth and the smell made me dry heave. I am doing better on liquid today so hopefully by Wednesday I can start the Protein Shakes. Doctor said that the Protein can cause gas pains as well.

Yes they can. I have some of that already with protein shakes. Drink them very slowly and that will help

I had mine Jan 4 and have been very thankful for no nausea or vomiting. I did have terrible gas pains for a few days but I do have a slight fear of vomiting which I was very nervous about. Can't complain.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
