That's great, @@magnificent2015! I've been a little nauseous this morning, but hoping that passes soon...

Thank You...I'm nervous but excited. I've heard so many good things from people who have had it done.

How's everyone that started PreOp doing? I started today, wasn't too bad, until early evening. I had chicken broth and Jello and took a nap until my stomach woke me up LOL. I'm most dreading the caffeine headache but I've been slowly weaning for the last week, so, so far so good.

Pray, Speak, Do! ~Meesh~

First day of pre-op diet today, and only a few hours into it. It's going okay. So far I've had a Protein Drink, Protein Cereal, and a Jerky stick. Oh, and lots of Water. Everything that I can eat for this diet is bought through the bariatric clinic, so it's all fortified with Protein. I know I can do it, but I'm hungry! I keep telling myself to just drink more Water then. I had to do a liquid diet before the endoscopy, and I managed that easily. This is a bit more challenging, and I can actually eat but I definitely think it's head hunger. I'm checking myself, and it's not my stomach telling me I'm hungry, it is totally my head. I'm thinking it's because what I am eating is not satisfying.

Hi,

My name is Kathy. I had my second appt with my surgeon and he gave me a surgery date...JANUARY 19th. I only have my nutrition class, my last support meeting before surgery and my endoscope to complete....then it's just my surgeon again next Friday and my Primary Drs physical to give me clearance. It's all gone pretty fast. My first appt with my Bariatric Surgeon was November 15th, 2016 and now my surgery date is almost here.

Hi Kathy! That's my surgery date as well!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
